When short on internal resource, Motorola engaged eXceeding's bid experts to manage a bid.
Motorola invent, build and deliver mobile devices. To some extent, Motorola created the mobile communications industry. They invented most of the protocols and technologies that make mobile communications possible, including the first mobile phone, the first base station and pretty much everything else in between. For the past 80 years, Motorola’s engineers have thrived on invention; on finding new ways to solve problems.
In the course of responding to a major proposal to the emergency services for the next generation communication equipment, Motorola identified a requirement for additional resource. The need for technology specialists, with a wide knowledge base and the capability to participate in a multi-disciplinary, cutting edge solution design presented a serious sourcing challenge.
Motorola contacted eXceeding who demonstrated a truly flexible, collaborative approach, mobilising a team, even prior to the supplier approval process and purchase order.
The eXceeding bid team all came from a technology manufacturing background. This ensured they fully understood the highly technical aspects of the bid, and were able to converse in a technical manner, but translate it into high scoring bid responses.
We identified 3 key challenges which needed to be addressed as part of the project:
Lack of internal resource to be able to produce a bid within the required timeframe.
Incredibly tight timescales, with zero margin for error or slippage, to bid on a truly prestigious bid.
Additional support needed to come from technically competent bid resources, that understood the manufacturing process.
eXceeding’s team adopted the Motorola bid approach and worked hand-in-hand with the internal, technical subject matter experts (SMEs).
